Ever wondered where a particular saying originated? Me neither, but I love this site all the same.
From 'A skeleton in the closet' to 'Get on my wick' the Phrase Finder has stacks of English sayings, phrases and idioms with which to astound your family and friends with while you waste the time you are always so short of (anyone spot the terrible grammar there, or indeed didn't collapse from shortage of breath)?

Phoenix Yard Books
Phoenix Yard Books, a new children's publishing company specialising in character publishing, are open to submissions for books aimed at children aged 3-13. They're particularly interested in 'page–turning plots and creative characters' for the 7-9 age group and comic book style stories, but do look at submissions for all stories.
They want three chapters and a synopsis by post or email, and they ask that you allow 12 weeks for them to get back to you.

If your short stories have a tendency to wing their way back to you as if on elastic this could be just the book for you.
In How to Write and Sell Short Stories, experienced author Della Galton shows how to create memorable characters along with satisfying plot lines using the six ingredients: What? When? Why? Where? Who? and How?
A creative writing tutor, Della has been a successful short story writer for two decades and sells around 100 short stories a year to markets in the UK and abroad.
